Webcam’s working for now…

Just managed to get the webcam on my Dell XPS M1210 working in Fedora 7 - many thanks to the Gentoo Wiki…

LuvcView in action…

LuvcView also supports still picture capture & AVI capture
However, I’m still unable to run the same Logitech camera with any of other apps. Kopete just shows a green box in the webcam placeholder as of now ![]()

Wow, just noticed, the pic quality in LuvcView is much better than what I get in Vista…

hello,
i have a xps m1210 with opensuse 10.2.But webcam is not working with my kernel Linux MY-XPS 2.6.18.8-0.3-default #1 SMP Tue Apr 17 08:42:35 UTC 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
what kernel version do you use ? any manual compiler or default kernel ?

Hi Gabriel,
I have stock Fedora 7 kernel - I did not compiled my kernel, however I did compiled the required modules.
I’m running
Linux Warrior 2.6.21-1.3194.fc7 #1 SMP Wed May 23 22:35:01 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Check the link I’ve mentioned in the post, search for uvcvideo in that link…
