The fairer sex!

Tonight, I was standing in a queue, waiting for my turn to buy 2 tickets for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift… & a middle aged lady came from behind (& out of her turn) & handed the boy behind the counter, two - hundred rupee notes!

I was like… excuse me…! This is supposed to be a queue & you wait for your turn, rather than barging ahead… I wanted to stop the lady and explain her that everyone here is following rules & she aint no special! She was so dumb & so … uff!

But I did nothing like that, I was not like her! But thsi cant continue for long… “they” need to understand that when they want to be considered equal, they should not act like this! I could have stopped her right there & we would have surely quarelled… but for what? A position in the queue… Tickets were not going to get all sold out within that one switch in the position, nor she would have lost the middle part of the rows…???

Sometimes, the fairer sex just cant act fair enough! …& probably the next time, I wont be that patient & certainly not _that_ forgiving!

…since i’ve mentioned the bad part of __them__, I must also chip in that not everyone is alike… When people act nicely, they get all the respect.

BTW… the movie was awesome, with all the drifts you can ever imagine. If you’ve ever played “Underground NFS2″ & have participated in Drifts, you know where to head this sunday… this movie rocks! Drifts!

Oops, its 11:33pm & i better be going, or we might have to cough up the return fare!

yeah right , sahi bola reeeee

not really related to your story but want to see your latest photograph. Put one on your blog.

Talking about fair sex being unfair, kid you haven’t seen the world yet.

I dont know… I WANTED to quarrel with her… but somehow managed to act otherwise!

:)

i agree with rocky… i wud hv quarreled.

i remem our first year when i had a fracture in hand. a gal… sm 20 years of age asked me to stand from the seat to make way for her in a DTC bus. my fracture was less considerable fact than her sex.

Sorry, but the original poster is showing his ignorance here. The action of the woman almost certainly had nothing to do with her sex, but with the fact that queues are not part of many cultures in this world.

Comment by Anne Wilson — August 12, 2006 @ 8:20 am

I beg to differ Anne, There were other people standing in the same queue & none had intentions of breaking the queue. As I mentioned, this is not true with every female I see, but mostly seen amongst them! They think as if nobody would dare question their move… but “Ladies first” is a gesture of respect & chivalry and nothing else!

Comment by makuchaku — August 12, 2006 @ 8:35 am

Okay. First things first. WHEN are you going to move to blogspot, like the “rest” of the planet? :P You know it IS nice to have tools like update notifications, log in with your own profile, comments tracking, etc etc etc etc etc :(

Second, this isn’t a phenomena of the ‘fair’ sex per se. As your Dad said, you really haven’t seen anything yet ;)

What the lady did is done every day in countless theatres in countless cities across the world, both by men and women. Usually, I rather firmly move the person back in line, guy or a girl. Usually they know what they are doing is wrong so even with a few words, often shame comes back and they move into place.

Oh the wiles of the fairer sex? Geez boy, you’ll be surprised :|

Comment by Rahul Chaturvedi — August 12, 2006 @ 5:14 pm

Too bad…but actually the less fairer sex also attempts to do these kinds of unfair acts..Like I was standing in a queue for a security check at the metro station at CP.The queue was too long and one guy just stood alongside the queue, making a whole new queue of his own…only to be snubbed by another person waiting in the queue..

Comment by Neha — August 15, 2006 @ 11:47 pm

Yaar As per me whether that guy was inspired by BIG B or big B itself as I remembered a Dialog from his Famous Movie Kalia “Hum jahan se khade hote hain line wahin se ban Jaati hai”

:)

Anyway this is not a topic of debate…

When r u coming back to delhi.
