It had been long months before my bike got serviced again. I was shocked to see that I was running my engine without the engine oil - only god knows when did that finished! The breaks were getting loose, the rear shockers needed to be tweaked! Even the horn was not working!
Boy! I literally felt the need today after I got it serviced finally - the engine’s roaring sound completely changed, the breakes are taught!, the horn’s started working, rear shockers are much better now - actually, as per the mechanic, I was keeping the air pressure in the tyres a bit too high - Recommended PSI’s are - for rear - 25 and for front wheel - 21 …& I was off the mark by +4 for each! So earlier, when I used to cross a puddle, the shockers used to almost cry, now they move in a smooth up-down movement
Oh, mentioning my bike getting serviced & not touching upon the adventure trip Me, Aman, Jassi & Ramandeep went would be like missing half of the story.
We started the journey with just a faint idea of destination - as per Jassy’s words - a left turn before Lonavla & another left turn & another & we would be there
A journey without a destination, taken just to enjoy the driving - 6AM in the morning is a freaking idea, but amazingly interesting!

It was shit cold when we started at 6AM! This pic was taken after about 1.5 hours of driving & you can still see how good is my protection - hehehe

Aman (our QE), Jassy (our Punjabi language maintainer - on my bike) & Ramandeep (one of their friends)

Chill wind started to give way to warm sunshine as Sun rose!

This was a small path, carved in-between a mountain’s foot! Wow!
So when we took the first left turn (as per Jassy) & then the second - we lost our way! And we had traveled through such a way that going back was like killing our backs! Almost 25% of the way (when we were up the mountains) was done on the second gear! So what do we do? Finally Jassy handed me the navigator’s charge & we set out to reach Lonavla & Khandala - our backup plan
Most of the area had army bases/offices so the roads we travelled were so clean & well maintained that it made up for all of efforts we had put in! Steep turns & climbs worth 2nd gear drive - made our day!
But when we reached Lonavla & Khandala, the only place to see was a dirty shooting point! I know that we were visiting the place in off-season (the correct time being the rainy season), but what we couldnt understand was that what entertainment do people get out of visiting this shit place!???
If you meet someone who has Lonavla/Khandala in mind - slap him! & tell him to go for a trek instead!
All worth seeing here was everything which was NOT a tourist spot -

We found an inlet to a valley just besides the road!

And this Shivling point!
Apart from these, the only thing worth doing here was gunning my bike on those awesome roads! & ofcourse, bird-watching ;-D (WTF!) hahahaha
Long story cut short - Either the people who are so fond of visiting Khandala & Lonavla are complete idiots! or we missed an obvious hang out point! If the latter is true, I would like to make a trip again - just to see what the heck we missed in our 191 kilometer long drive!
