Long time, no see!

March 4th, 2009

Yeah! Its been real long time since I last blogged - almost >2 months.

A lot has happened between 1st Jan and today - I won’t iterate over all of it again but just that I’m happy being at home. Just today, I was answering rapid fire questions to a good friend and one that I was real happy to answer was “Pune or Delhi” - and my answer was obviously Delhi! - “apni dilli”.

Okay, so fast forward to 4th march 09.

Went out for a quick shopping spree - accompanying me was apna dude bro. Objective was to get a new pair of casual shoes and a nice pair of jeans. It wasn’t a mamoth task but it took us more than an hour to zero in on the pair of jeans I wanted. We surveyed more than 9-10 showrooms and finally bought it from the very first shop we had went to :) - One peculiar thing I noticed in almost all of the shops were “effects of cost cutting”. Almost all of the shops had turned down their air conditioning (resulting in an extremely uneasy temperature inside). So much so, some shops were turning on their music systems only when customers used to enter the showrooms. Wow! I hope it saves them more $$ than it shoo’s away the customers…

Anyways - shopping for a pair of trousers was easier than shoes. Another half an hour and we were still wandering and looking for a decent pair of casuals :( - somehow the shops here didn’t seem to have much variety… - or my tastes are different hahaha - some assurance was that Sammy didn’t liked any either. (okay, so I am not so much off the mark here :) )

And before retiring back home, we went on to play a quick game of pool. It was first time for Sammy - but he’s a quick learner. In the half hour we played, he managed (or I should say, I managed ;) ) to draw the game at 1game each :) - maybe next time! lol

Nothing like being at home on a weekday, sleep till 1pm and have fun in the evening :)
Ye hai apni dilli

Oh yes, how can I miss this - Sunil uncle (dad’s close friend) visited us in Feb. Here’s a capture form the get together we had at Pizza Hut…

Home-coming!

November 23rd, 2008

Nothing beats home!

A small proof :)

Four Fractions had its first official team meet - though nothing official was discussed, we had a ton of fun - pure simple fun.

Chilling over coke! - Sam and myself

The pizza that we destroyed - we sure were the costliest customers that evening - costed Pizza Hut an extra 350+90+70 bucks!
As it turned out - we were served the pizza and garlic bread with onions when we specially requested them to serve it w/o onions. …and ofcourse PH paid the price - a free pitcher of Coke :)

All the w/o onions thing made everyone so damn hungry!

Mr. Sandy - our chief guest for the evening :)

- brainstorming -

Ofcourse - he is shadow practicing for the future… just in case!

Happy Birthday Snoopy!

June 14th, 2008

Someone who was and would always be - my family - Snoopy
14th June 1991 - 25th Sept 2006

I still remember very vividly that when he came to live with us on a Saturday morning (15th June, 1991) - how tiny and white and all scared he was, how he slept there on the carpet in the lobby and didn’t used to budge much from his place, how he used to run away from me always, how he used to greet us after a long day of work, how he used to love Mangoes and how Bozo used to bully him…

To us, he wasn’t a dog or a pet - but a family. Someone whom we loved and cherished.

Today, he might not be with us anymore but his memories are - and would always be.

Happy Birthday dear Snoopy - May god bless you in the doggie heaven.

For the dude he was!

A big thanks to Sameer!

May 2nd, 2007

Last few days, I was tinkering with Symbian API, trying to grasp how it works - all’ve been possible due to Sameer’s & Sandy’s huge effort to pack my PC & bring it all the way from Delhi to Pune - shoo’ing off a bunch of ticket inspectors who told him that he needed some sort of permission to travell with transported goods!

His stay in Pune was pretty enjoyable - Blue Bell 204 felt like JD-73/A again with Sameer throwing off all the clothes whereever he could - that arguments, those talks… everything! I hope to see my family soon :)

Thanks Sammer, Sandy :)

Though the Epoc simulators are bit too heavy for my old chap to run - I sometimes have to wait for minutes together to see *any* activity on the simulator - just to find that the program crashed with an exception! - but hey, atleast I can read the docs & all :)

& once I get the airtel connection, i’m going to make our apartment a Wifi zone! & Bhalerao has agreed well in advance to support this decision of mine financially :)
