Any takers for my E61?
May 20th, 2007
Yesterday I was out on the streets, paying my mobile phone bills when I decided to check for E61i again & this time, the effort was worth it! It was right there, in the showcase, shining in its metalic’ish case! The deal is worth 18k - not much, considering I bought my E61 for 19k
So now, I have plans to retire my Potato (my E61) - either within the family - Sameer is not into such big phones & E61 is bit too daunting on technology for Pops & Mom hehehe OR the next obvious place, the second hand market.
My phone is with original Nokia bill, excellently kept (it was my baby!), comes with the packaged 64 mb MiniSD card. The phone’s screen is scratchless, has a 400 bucks scratchguard screen on it. I have everything that came with the box pack - original CD’s, manuals, hands free, everything!
I’m looking for a buyer - a passionate Nokia user who wants an upgrade to E61. I’m looking for a price range of about 9.5k. If you think you are interested, buzz me at “maku[@]makuchaku[.]info“. I’m willing to negotiate. You’ll have an E61 - almost box packed!
The phone was bought on 11th July 2006.

Putting customers first!
May 17th, 2007
Yesterday, I was at this small shop - almost half the size of the space needed to park a car, having tea with one of my freinds. Good tea, but they had nothing to eat at that time…
Just besides this small shop is a bigger eating joint - well, not very modern - but the place where all the bachelors hang out for lunch & dinner. Both, the tea shop & the eating joint are sun by the same family. We always used to go to this bigger shop & ask the aunty there that if she has tea - but since their main focus used to be pupil who were there for food (& not snacks), we almost always used to get a negative resonse (& back then, this small shop didn’t existed). But I suppose, the demand for tea went on to be so huge that the family (who runs the big eating joint) started this small shop - an incremental venture - to tap into the customers who just want tea & nothing more! Nice!
& whats the best part - they are so much focussed on their customers - When we were sipping tea, I asked them if we could get something to eat - the lady there told me that though there were no snacks yet, she had freshly cooked dal/rice plate which she could offer. My next obvious question was - “Aunty, does it contains Kandha?” (Kandha is maharashtrian for Onions) - as I’m a Jain & onions are strict nono for me. She asked me in return - “Why dont you eat Kandha? & if you dont, would you like to come over for dinner? I will cook something for you without Kandha” - check out the lady’s inclination to care for her customers, each & every one of them & offer them personalised service - to increase her customer base in any way she can. Had I not been cooking at my home, I would have certainly went to her joint yesternight for food - even if I would have got it someplace else for half the price! Now compare this to “My experience at a Mobile Shop” - see the difference in atitude!
Lets learn something from this! Learn to put customers first or they’ll put you out of business!

Balboa - Love him for his spirit!
May 13th, 2007
I’ve been watching Rocky Balboa - nonstop from past 3 days, despite of my super hectic schedule & self proclaimed madness to learn J2ME. Watched it twice - back to back on Friday night, watched it again on Saturday & yet again on today… his words just keep revolving around in my head!

It aint about how hard you hit… But about how hard you can get hit & keep moving forward!
Damn! I missed it - it was right in front of me, when it was being screened in Gold Adlabs!
& guess what? I’m searching the soundtrack of this movie - timeline 1:37:02 to 1:39:29 - the soundtrack when he’s training! I bet, it’ll make an interesting audience when my E61 will ring!

First signs of E61i in India
May 10th, 2007
I’ve been searching like mad - all across the Mobile showrooms in Pune for any signs of E61i - but without any luck.
Until just now, out of nowhere, thought of checking a hit on EBay.in & to my surprise, this dude is selling it for 24k, which seems like a 2k more than what i’ve thought about it.
Maybe i should wait more
PS: it seems as if shopkeepers here are so blissfully ignorant of whats happening or they are complete duds! Thats not the way businesses are run… thats not even the copy-book style!
