"I have good news for cat and dog lovers"

Finance Minister P Chidambaram said on Wednesday announcing duty reduction on pet foods.

"I propose to reduce the duty on pet foods from 30 per cent to 20 per cent"

he said presenting the 2007-08 Budget in the Lok Sabha.

Managed to beat them all!

10-Jul-2005 - when I had registered MAKUCHAKU.INFO domain (infact it was a sponsored domain), I always dreamt of being on top of google search when “Mayank Jain” was searched. But MAYANKJAIN.{COM,FI} were already taken & since they were a direct hit for the search term, they always occupied a place above my website - & infact many Mayank’s were above me! It was *then*!

But have a look at this *today* - google for “Mayank Jain” & you’ll come across this…

Wow! makuchaku.info is right there - on the top!

& since google has indexed it with the Gnome Foundation post, this must have happened pretty recently - nice!

A date with a Ghost Rider… doh!

After much efforts, I managed to budge off my seat & got a ticket for Ghost Rider’s show, yesterday night - 9pm. Though the movie started pretty nicely, it had nothing to keep audiences from dozing off… absolutely no story, very bad direction, Nicolas Cage is way too old for this type of a role, the action scenes were poorly done, even the set for the climax looked very very plastic! The director/writer just couldnt jel the idea of a “ghost rider” in the modern day world! The only saviour of Ghost Rider, was his Bike - yummy!

I’ve been to so many bad movies - but this one was clearly the worst of them! So much so, that I even thought of leaving the movie half way through the second part - that bad!

Then there was Babel on the other hand - an excellently directed movie - perfectly gelling together the flashback & the present! Brad Pitt did a nice role - though the movie didnt had much of him in the script. But still, a must watch!

PS: Just to chip in, if you have long legs like me, pick up E1 seat in Adlabs - Lots of legspace, even a support to stretch your legs onto!

PS2: I’m writing this blog from IE7 (Build 7.0.5730.11) - & trust me, the changes I see in IE7 make me feel that they are there so as just to make it different from firefox! Buttons are all spread over the window, I cannot close unfocussed tabs, new tab button moves with the tabs… ouch! that sucks!
